Tax Assessor

The duties of the Tax Assessor’s Office include maintaining and updating the municipal tax list.  All real property is to be assessed as of October 1 of the pre-tax year. 

The Tax Assessor’s Office updates the property ownership of all real property within Moorestown Township and reviews each deed recorded at the Burlington County Clerk’s Office. The Assessor’s Office also maintains the block and lot system including the municipal tax map.  

County Tax Appeals

“Notice of Assessment” postcards are mailed annually on or before November 15 of the pre-tax year. If you wish to contest the assessment on the postcard, the filing period is November 15 - January 15. In addition, general instructions are on the back of the “Notice of Assessment” postcards. Tax Deductions

Resident senior citizens, veterans and disabled persons may qualify for a tax deduction. The annual deduction is $250 per year and applications are available through the Moorestown Township Assessor's Office.


Property Tax Reimbursement Program

The Property Tax Reimbursement Program (the Freeze) reimburses qualified senior citizen residents the difference in taxes for 2 prior years. For more information, or to find out how to obtain an application, please call 1-800-323-4400. 

Property Tax Exemption

Totally disabled veterans qualify for full exemption from property taxes based on a VA rating of 100% disability due to a war related injury. Contact the Moorestown Township Assessors Office if you think this exemption applies to you.
