Adult Programs

Adult Basketball – For adults 30 and over. Co-ed pick up play every Monday night from 7:30-9:00 pm, at the Church Street Recreation Center Gym. This is a great conditioner and a sport where you don’t have time to be distracted by fatigue or nagging aches and pains because you’re too engaged in the game. It’s dynamic, fun, and builds strength, coordination and endurance with the boredom of a treadmill.

Boot Camp – For adults and teens (8th grade and older). There is a monthly registration required to gain access to a variety of classes. Take as many as you like. Classes range from total body interval circuit, cardio/strength, weight training, ab/core, and yoga. Exit 4 Boot Camp is fun, welcoming and all classes can be modified for any fitness level. “Boot Camp” may sound intimidating but you make it as challenging as you want. It’s all about getting moving and continuing to coming back. 

Pickleball – Pickleball is one of the fasting growing sports in the country. Day sessions are offered Monday through Thursdays from 10:15 am to 1:15 pm and an evening session on Tuesdays, indoors at the Rec Center gym. This is a sport anyone of any age or fitness level can pick up easily. It is a combination of tennis, ping-pong and badminton. Open play, no instruction, but paddles, net and balls provided. Adult Soccer – Informal, non-tackle soccer games. Players must be  35 years old and over and have a basic knowledge of soccer.  Program is run at Wesley Bishop Park every Tuesday night from 9:15 to 10:45 pm. This is an excellent and fun form of cardio. Increase endurance and strengthen your core and coordination. Program is limited to 40 participants so early registration is suggested. Teams are flexible and will change week to week depending on turnout. Rubber cleats, shin guards and a dark and white shirt required.

Adult Tennis –Tuesday evenings this class is for beginners who want to try a new sport (or lapsed players who want to dust off a long-rested racquet) that can be played at any age. Low-pressure and fun drills led by experienced instructors get you ready for match play.

Tai Chi – Tai Chi classes are on Tuesday mornings, 10:00 to 11:00 am, Wednesday evenings 7:00 to 8:00 pm, and Thursday mornings, 10:00 to 11:00 on the third floor of the Church Street Recreation Center. Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese form of martial arts. Its modern day adaptation is widely practiced to promote mental relaxation and physical fitness through low-impact, fluid, graceful movements. Class focuses on the repetition of Tai Chi “Basic Skills” and the “Simplified 18 Steps Chen Style” Tai Chi Quan which once learned can be done at home as well.

Walking Club – Walking Club in conjunction with Moorestown’s “Open Space Walks” take you on a guided journey through the wonderful parks and open space conserved in Moorestown. Learn about local history or fauna and flora while getting some fresh air and exercise. Walks take place roughly once a week in good weather and are kept to one to three miles.

Yoga - Yoga classes are held on Thursday evenings 6:00 to 7:15 pm on the third floor of the Church Street Recreation Center. All levels are welcome. Instructor likes to tailor the session to requests from the class. This is a relaxing and gentle way to revitalize the body.
