DATES:  August 29 to September 14 day Camp

TIME: 2 to 4 p.m.

LOCATION: Church Street Recreation Center – 3rd Floor

Description: The vocal performance camp will entail not only performance but vocal techniques as well. Each week will begin with vocal warm ups followed by vocal technique. Students will learn breath control, posture, vocal health, positioning of vowels, and the do’s and don’ts with singing. The second hour will entail more of an interactive experience between the groups. Students will rotate performing during the weeks. We will improve each performance in a positive and safe space. Students will learn how to interact with an audience, learn how to use eye contact, learn expression, how to handle stage fright, how to hold a microphone, and how to connect to the music you are singing

Instructor: Courtney Halpin MacBride is a Moorestown High School alumni. She attended Berklee College of Music studying voice, performance, songwriting, and music therapy. While in Boston she performed all over the city and was in a wedding band. After college she moved back to New Jersey and was working as a full time musician at Howl and the Moon for a little over two years. Courtney then moved to Los Angeles for two and a half years working on her own music, writing for TV, film, commercial work, and performing around the Los Angeles area. She has had call backs for the Voice and American Idol and continues to perform and write music for herself. She currently teaches private voice in homes and studios. Her passion is the love of teaching children and adults how to perform and how to sing properly. This is why she decided to reach out to the community of Moorestown and keep the arts going strong and the music going stronger. She loves helping people follow their dreams and be the best singer and performer they can be.
