David Zipin

Town Council
Title: Council Member

Councilmember Dave Zipin was elected to Moorestown Township Council in 2020. Prior to serving on Council, Dave served on the Moorestown Planning Board and was selected by his fellow Planning Board members to be their designee to the Economic Development Advisory Committee. In his professional capacity, Dave is an attorney working for the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency where he serves as the Ethics Officer as well as the Harassment and Discrimination Officer. Prior to NJHMFA, Dave worked for the State of New Jersey at the Department of Community Affairs where he worked with the Government Records Council, the Local Finance Board and the Division of Local Government Services.

Dave began his career in public service working for Cherry Hill Township while still attending Rutgers in Camden where he earned his JD/MBA. After graduating and being admitted to the practice of law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, he continued working for Cherry Hill Township as the Assistant Solicitor and briefly as the Acting Director of Community Development. Dave is also an adjunct professor, teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses in a Management Department. His focus areas include employment law, management ethics, labor law, labor relations, alternative dispute resolution, negotiations and contracts.

Dave is a 15-year resident of the Wedgewood neighborhood of Moorestown where he lives with his wife Cyndi, their twin daughters, two cats and their pandemic puppy Zach. When he is not working, teaching, or running the kids around to various activities, Dave enjoys cooking and baking, making anything he can from scratch after having been diagnosed with Celiac Disease and being forced to transition to a strictly gluten free diet. He also enjoys woodworking, home renovation, tinkering with his marine/reef tank and restoring old cars (although he is currently “between” projects).
