The Township of Moorestown is pleased to begin two major projects which will greatly improve Township services. This is intended to inform you of the scope of construction that will be occurring at our water treatment plants.
The existing water treatment plants at 510 Hartford Road and 1248 North Church Street are being improved and new upgraded facilities will be constructed in their place. These upgrades will guarantee the Township of Moorestown will meet all State and Federal guidelines as well as provide the Township with access to clean, safe, reliable drinking water for years to come. Normal working hours are anticipated to be Monday through Friday, 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Weekend work is not expected on these projects. The construction of both projects is expected to be completed in early 2020.
Construction at the Hartford Road site consists of a new masonry filter building, clarifiers, backwash and recycle tanks along with other site improvements. Construction at the North Church Street site consists of a large building expansion along with other site improvements. These sites will be secured by a 6’ tall chain link temporary fence around the facilities. Noise and dust control will be monitored and held to a minimum at all times. Renderings of the proposed Hartford Road Site Filter Building and the upgraded building at North Church Street are available for viewing upon request in the Township Clerk’s office located at 111 West Second Street. The structures’ earth tone colors should blend in well with the surrounding area. The buildings designs are just one of several provisions intended to minimize impact on neighborhoods and help improve the aesthetics to neighboring areas.
