TOWNSHIP OF MOORESTOWN
Hydrant Flushing Program to begin April 1
The Township will start flushing hydrants on April 1. The flushing process will take approximately 3 weeks to complete and should resolve any brown water issues.
Brown water issues are a normal occurrence when there is a disturbance to the system caused by water main breaks, hydrant flushing and more recently the change in directional flow from the turn-on of the N. Church Street water treatment plant. These disturbances stir up the sediment that naturally resides in the pipes. The hydrant flushing process when properly done reduces the sediment in the system and resolves these water issues.
