Get ready for summer leagues and pick-up basketball with a clinic for grades 1-6.
The fundamental skills of basketball including dribbling and passing as well as rebounding and shooting techniques will be emphasized.

BASKETBALL CLINIC - SUMMER - BOYS AND GIRLS


Five Week Outdoor Summer Youth Basketball Clinic. This clinic will provide an opportunity for players of all abilities to learn and fine-tune their fundamental basketball skills. Players will learn stretching/warm up routines, practice drills, and display their talents during games.

BASKETBALL LEAGUE - SUMMER - BOYS AND GIRLS


Summer basketball at its best!!  Summer league will play outside at Maple Dawson Park (2 courts) under the lights.  Open to all boys in grades 3-8 (as of Fall 2018) and girls in grades 4-8 (as of Fall 2018).  League play will be 5 weeks, with a guarantee of 8 games per team.  Games will be played on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights (most weeks will have 2 games/week).  Volunteer coaches needed.  Team assignments will be emailed by June 15.

Monday, June 25 through Wednesday, July 25 (no games July 4)

TIMES:

5:30 to 9:30 PM (one hour game times)  Younger grades have will at earlier times.

Chef Katie will teach two favorite Birthday recipes. Cake pops will be prepared from scratch and perfectly frosted along with the popular cookie cake.

This four day camp will cover the basics of baking including measurements, ratios and proportions. All recipes are from scratch and include cakes, pretzels, and class choice.  Camps run Monday through Thursday.

CULINARY CAMPS - June and August


Chef Katie will tour the children through our "American Cuisine" favorites.  All recipes use quality sustainable ingredients and prepared completely from scratch.  Children will return home with food to share with their families.
Monday-Soul/Comfort Food, Oven Fried Chicken, Mac and Cheese, and Corn Bread;
Tuesday-Tex Mex Day, Homemade tortillas and Fajita Spiced Chicken;
Wednesday-Italian American, Pizza dough and sauce from scratch plus garlic knots and stromboli;
Thursday-Pork and Chicken Pot Stickers and vegetable fried rice.

CULINARY - SUSHI


This program is designed to help adolescent students learn culinary practices and fundamentals they can build upon. Chef Katie will lead this group of "junior foodies" as they explore fun and easy recipes.  Students will learn the basics of sushi making and will take home a California roll and a Special roll.

DANCE: CREATIVE DANCE, MOMMY AND ME (Ages 2 to 3 yrs)  SPRING SESSION


Our Mommy and Me class gives parents and children an opportunity to bond through dance, song, and creative movement.  Children will receive an introduction to dance with stretching exercises, imagination and creative play with the use of sensory props improving gross motor skills.  This class also offers young children their first look in a classroom setting, improving social interaction.

: Sommer Bayard.  Sommer Bayard (instructor/choreographer).  Sommer graduated from Stockton University with a BA in Public Relations and a minor in Performing Arts.  Sommer has a wide range of disciplines including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, Babywearing Barre and Bender Barre.  She has performed in New York City and Disney World.

ROBOTICS CAMP - Build Your Own Motorized Robots!  June


Jump start your STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Match) education with this 4-day motorized robot building class.  Participants will have the opportunity to create a multitude of projects with the 30 in 1 design of the Engino model in an interactive class setting.  Time in class will be spend crafting and designing motorize vehicles for races in addition to class voted projects during our time together.  The children will be able to take their kits home at the end to show off their robots and continue to design on their own!

Alanna Wright. Alanna has been leading science camps and teaching professionally for the past 4 years. Combining her Bachelor of Science degree with her passion for childhood education, she puts together interactive classes for children to learn and grow through scientific exploration.  She loves making STEM fun and accessible for all ages, aiming to spark the inner genius of youth and encourage a whole generation of curious scientists.


ROBOTCS CAMP - Space Robot Workshop - July


Come learn about solar power and space in this interactive robot building workshop! Children will harness the power of the sun to fuel their space robots into action. Projects include building a space station and a moving space astronaut, in addition to many more robotic designs. Alanna will teach everyone about the future of space travel, creative energy sources and robots travelling to Mars! Participants will get to keep their Space Robot kits at the end of the class so they can further explore the galaxies.

ROBOTICS CAMP - Catapults and Crossbows - August


Come learn about how projectiles work and the mechanics of force in this interactive workshop. Participants will make different crossbows and catapults to use for experiments in motion. Alanna will lead the children in putting together models and test the impact of changing design features to learn the basis of physics. The children will keep their design kits at the end to take home and continue to explore the world of physics.

Learn the fundamentals of soccer, basketball, tennis and flag football.  Participants will learn stretching techniques and drills developed to improve their skills.  Small group instruction will give children the opportunity to work with mentors and participate in live games.

SUMMER - FOUR IS FUN     AND     FUN IS "FUN-NER"


Looking for an engaging activity for your four or five year old this summer? Our summer program will have your child participating in physical activity, learning letters and numbers, creating art, exploring experiments and most importantly having fun! Each week will be themed, in which children will complete related art projects, read stories, and make new friends. Led by a certified teacher, your child will be surrounded by a caring and passionate staff to ensure their safety and security throughout the summer.

George Crouse.  George has taught tennis as a full time professional for the last 15 years.  He is an elite certified professional of the USPTA.  He played tennis at Fairfield University in Connecticut and currently teaches tennis full time at the Moorestown Tennis Club.  George has a teaching philosophy of creating a fun, learning environment.

 

VOLLEYBALL CAMP - SUMMER


This program will be held at Moorestown Recreation Center and is open to boys and girls in grades 5-8.  The camp will stress fundamentals including passing, serving, setting and basic hitting.
