BASKETBALL PRESEASON CLINIC - FALL

The fundamental skills of basketball including dribbling and passing as well as rebounding and shooting techniques will be emphasized. Instructional full court scrimmages will be organized.

BAKING - PIES FOR THANKSGIVING


This one day class will teach your children how to make pies from beginning to end.  They will go home with two pies for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Pie dough will be made from scratch as well as the pie filling.  The children will each go home with a pumpkin pie and an apple-cinnamon pie.

BAKING - GINGERBREAD HOUSE BAKING AND BUILDING (Grades 2-6)


The first class will involve making the gingerbread from scratch and baking the parts of the house.  The second day will include construction and decoration of each participant's house.  Houses will be taken home at the end of the second class.

BAKING CAMP - SUMMER - August 


This four day camp will cover the basics of baking including measurements, ratios and proportions. Students will be given hands-on instructions for making favorites such as pretzels, muffins, rolls and pies. 
Monday - Soft Pretzel Workshop - dough from scratch, specialty pretzels such as cinnamon sugar, pretzel dogs and dips
Tuesday - Muffin Baskets - variety of scratch made, organic muffins
Wednesday - Quick Easy Dinner Rolls - Cheddar Herb Biscuits, Garlic Rolls
Thursday - Creative Mini Pies - fillings to be picked by the class.

CULINARY COOKING CLASS -  

KID CHEF!

This program is designed to help adolescent students learn culinary practices and fundamentals that they can build upon.  From beginning to end of making a perfect holiday meal, Chef Katie will lead this group of “junior foodies” as they explore fun, healthy and more challenging recipes..   
This two week program will have two separate sessions.  The first session (November 2 & 16) will focus on Warm Autumn Recipes; pumpkin ravioli from scratch, oven roasted chicken, garlic herb bread and roasted veggies.  The second session (December 6 & 13) will be holiday themed with fresh apple sauce, potato pancakes (latkes), loaded baked ziti and scratch made garlic bread.

CULINARY CAMP - August (Grades 5-8)


This 4 day program is designed to help adolescent students learn culinary practices and fundamentals they can build upon.

Thursday-Pot Stickers. Pork and Chicken Pot Stickers and vegetable fried rice.

FIELD HOCKEY LEAGUE - FALL, 2017 (Grades 1-4)


The Department of Parks and Recreation will sponsor Field Hockey Leagues for residents or girls attending school in Moorestown and entering grades 1-4 in the fall.

DATES

: Sundays, September 17th to October 29th

TIME

: 12:30-2:00 pm

FEE

: Grades 1-2 - $50.00 (non-residents attending school in Moorestown- $70.00)
         Grades 3-4 - $60.00 (non-residents attending school in Moorestown-$80.00).  We will have referees for some games at this grade.

LOCATION

: Wesley Bishop Park, North Church Street. No disposable water bottles on turf field.

Team Assignments

: Team assignments will be announced on Sunday, September 17th and league games will begin that day. Girls should come dressed to play with mouth guards, shin guards, and field hockey approved goggles. Sticks that must be returned each week will be available for use. 

Volunteers

: Volunteer coaches and assistants are needed to make the leagues possible. No prior knowledge of field hockey is required.
 

FIELD HOCKEY CLINIC - FALL, 2017 (Grades 3-6)


The program is designed to help the girls improve their stick skills and is in addition to the regular Sunday Program. Teams will not be formed for this program. Girls should report on the first scheduled Wednesday (September 13th) ready to play. If you have registered for Limited Travel program, you do NOT need to register for the clinic.

FIELD HOCKEY "LIMITED TRAVEL" LEAGUE, FALL  (Grades 5-6)


The Department of Parks and Recreation will sponsor a "Limited" Travel League on Sundays that will be available on a first come-first serve basis. Teams will play in the South Jersey Youth Field Hockey League and will have one to two games per week.  Each girl will be expected to play goalie at least one week unless a goalkeeper registers for the team. Girls are expected to attend each week so that the team does not have to forfeit any games.  

LOCATION

: various locations in South Jersey such as Medford, Collingswood, Gloucester.

FEE

: $125.00 (non resident and attending school in Moorestown $145.00)

GAMES

: Sundays, September 10th through October 29th.  

TIME

: Between 12:00 noon and 7:00 pm.  A schedule of time and place will be provided at the start of the league.

PRACTICES

: Wednesdays and Thursdays 3:45 pm to 5:00 pm at Wesley Bishop Park turf field (girls must attend practices to participate in games - do NOT sign up for Wednesday clinic).

FIELD HOCKEY "LIMITED TRAVEL" LEAGUE - Fall (Grades 7-8)


The Department of Parks and Recreation will sponsor a Field Hockey Team for residents. The Township will form at least one team to play in the South Jersey Youth Field Hockey league. If enough girls register for a second team, a second team will be formed. Teams will have one to two games per week played in various townships on Sunday afternoons.  Girls are expected to attend each week so that the team does not have to forfeit any games. PREVIOUS FIELD HOCKEY KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED. This is NOT for beginners as there are no scheduled practices at the 7th and 8th grade level and highly competitive games.

SOCCER CLINIC - FALL, 2017 - (K - 2 grade)


The emphasis of this program is to develop solid soccer players in a fun and educational environment. By teaching foundational skills, sportsmanship and general soccer knowledge, young soccer players develop a good solid base from which to grow.  Players sign up for either Tuesday or Thursday and attend only on that day.

SOCCER LEAGUE - FALL, 2017 - GRADES 1-6 - BOYS AND GIRLS


Games begin Saturday, September 23rd and continue through November 4th. Games will be played on Saturdays for 1 hour at Jeff Young Park or Wesley Bishop Park. Schedules will indicate times, dates, and fields for each game. There will be one practice per week on a weeknight at the coach's availability. In case of inclement weather, an email will be sent one hour prior to start of games or practices.

: June 5 through August 18 ($10 late fee after August 18 if space allows). Limited space available so early registration is recommended.

Missy Mercer - Missy is a USPTR Certified Instructor with teaching experience at Cherry Hill Health & Racquet Club, Green Valley Tennis Club, Riverton Country Club, South Jersey Tennis Center and the Moorestown Parks & Recreation. Missy has also had extensive USTA playing experience and specializes in singles and doubles strategy.
George Crouse - George has taught tennis as a full time professional for the last 15 years.  He is an elite certified professional of the USPTA.  He played tennis at Fairfield University in Connecticut and currently teaches tennis full time at the Moorestown Tennis Club.  George has a teaching philosophy of creating a fun, learning environment.

TUMBLIN' TOTS - Ages 18 months to 4 years


Description: Mommy & Me(18 months to 2 1/2 years) - Fun fitness designed to improve motor skills and coordination while having fun and developing social skills. Parents will assist with rhythm activities and ball play including activities such as obstacle courses and parachute games. (2 1/2 - 4 year olds)- The program is designed to make fitness fun for children. With exercise hidden within play-based actitivities, your child will build motor skills and coordination, while having fun and developing social skills. Activities will include weekly greeting and stretch, cardio warm ups with props and music, obstacle course, parachute play, and more...It is a goal to see that each child experiences feeling of success during each class, leading to a life-long love of being active and fit. Parents are required to stay and participate when necessary.
