BASKETBALL 2-DAY PRESEASON WARM UP


The clinic will be held on Tuesday, January 2 and Thursday, January 4. Skills of basketball including dribbling and passing as well as rebounding and shooting techniques will be emphasized. Instructional scrimmages will be organized.

The fundamental skills of basketball including dribbling, passing, as well as rebounding and shooting techniques will be emphasized. The program is not a league, though informal scrimmages may be arranged in a teaching situation.

BASKETBALL LEAGUE - WINTER - Grade 2 - Boys and Girls


Games will be played on lowered baskets at the Upper Elementary School between 8:30 am and 6:00 PM for 1 1/2 hours on Saturdays from January 13 to March 10, 2018. There are no weekday practices. Teams will have a clinic run by Ted Flick for the first 30 minutes prior to league game each Saturday officiated by Ted and his instructors.

TEAM ASSIGNMENTS:

 Assignments will be emailed by January 5th. Team placement requests are not guaranteed.

BAKING - NEW YEAR TREATS


New Year dessert tray.  Chef Katie will lead the children in producing a delicious tray of New Year's Eve desserts; mini cheese cakes and cream puffs.  Students will go home with a tray of desserts to share on New Year's Eve.  All recipes are from scratch.

The first class will involve making the gingerbread from scratch and baking the parts of the house.  The second day will include construction and decoration of each participant's house.  Houses will be taken home at the end of the second class.

BAKING - PIES, SCONES AND MORE


This four week course will cover baking pies (homemade pastry dough), scones, yeast breads and quick breads from scratch.  If you have taken Diane's classes in the past, recipes are changed for new challenges.

MARDI GRAS BAKING


Learn how to make "King Cake" for Mardi Gras along with other traditional Mardi Gras desserts.

CULINARY WORKSHOP - INTRO TO...


Healthy kid approved dinner.  First time cooks can get off to a healthy start with this beginnger's class.  Students will learn how to make baked chicken fingers, roasted mixed veggies, and root veggie mash.  This class helps new students get comfortable in the kitchen by practicing knife skills, seasonings and learning about wholeseome foods.  All recipes are from scratch.

Chef Katie will teach traditional Japanese techniques and flavor profiles for the perfect sushi making.  Students will make shrimp tempura with mango and aocado rolls, sweet potato tempura with cucumber and scallions rolls and veggie fried rice.  All recipes are from scratch.

This 3-week workshop program will have 3 separate installments.  The first class will focus on breakfast quiches and French toast.  The second class will work on pizza dough and sauce. Perfect for the make your own pizza crowd.  The third session will be a make your own pasta - the trick to a good noodle is texture and shape!

MOMMY AND ME (Ages 18 months to 3 yrs)


Our Mommy and Me class gives parents and children an opportunity to bond through dance, song, and creative movement.  Children will receive an introduction to dance with stretching exercises, imagination and creative play with the use of sensory props improving gross motor skills.  This class also offers young children their first look in a classroom setting, improving social interaction.

TUMBLIN' TOTS - Ages 18 months to 4 years


Description: Mommy & Me(18 months to 2 1/2 years) - Fun fitness designed to improve motor skills and coordination while having fun and developing social skills. Parents will assist with rhythm activities and ball play including activities such as obstacle courses and parachute games. (2 1/2 - 4 year olds)- The program is designed to make fitness fun for children. With exercise hidden within play-based activities, your child will build motor skills and coordination, while having fun and developing social skills. Activities will include weekly greeting and stretch, cardio warm ups with props and music, obstacle course, parachute play, and more...It is a goal to see that each child experiences feeling of success during each class, leading to a life-long love of being active and fit. Parents are required to stay and participate when necessary.

VOLLEYBALL CLINIC -  Winter (Grades 5-9)


The clinics will be held on Friday evenings (6:30-7:45) at the Church Street Recreation Center beginning Friday, January 5th through March 2nd (no class 2/16). The clinics will stress fundamentals of play through instruction and drills. No previous experience is necessary. Girls and boys will learn techniques for passing, serving, setting, and basic hitting. Volleyballs will be provided for use during the clinics.
