BAKING CAMPS -  August


This four day camp will cover the basics of baking including measurements, ratios and proportions. All recipes are from scratch and include cakes, pretzels, and class choice.  Camps run Monday through Thursday.

BAKING BASICS AND MORE - FALL


This four week course will cover the basics of baking and expand on prior baking knowledge. Chef Katie will take the participants on an American Culinary Adventure!! All recipes use quality sustainable ingredients and are prepared completely from scratch. Class 1 - American BBQ (Baked Wings and Side Salad); Class 2 - Comfort Foods (Oven Roasted Chicken, Mac and Cheese, Corn Bread); Class 3 - Pizza and Garlic Knots; Class 4 - Pie Day (Blueberry and Key Lime).

COOKING - FARM TO FORK - Grades 5 through Adults - September 17


Chef Katie's Farm to Fork classes will focus on locally produced farm fresh ingredients.  This 3 hour workshop will begin with the popular Caprese Salad, fresh jersey tomatoes, basil and mozzarella.  Dressing made from scratch will accompany this dish perfectly. Spaghetti squash is the perfect accompaniment to the salad, this squash is rich in protein and has far fewer carbs than pasta.  This meal will be made complete with a Sweet Corn Cake (Jersey Corn) with cinnamon whipped cream.

COOKING - FARM TO FORK - Grades 5 through Adults - September 28


Chef Katie's Farm to Fork classes will focus on locally produced farm fresh ingredients.  This 3 hour vegetarian workshop will begin with making tomato sauce out of fresh jersey tomatoes.  You will learn how to spiralize vegetables to make a wonderful healthy spaghetti noodle. Meatballs (all vegetable ingredients) will accompany the dish.  There will be plenty of tomato sauce to take home.

FALL FIELD HOCKEY - GRADES 1 to 4; IN TOWN PROGRAM


The Department of Parks and Recreation will sponsor Field Hockey Leagues for residents or girls attending school in Moorestown and entering grades 1-4 in the fall. All games are held at Wesley Bishop on Sundays, against other in town teams.

DATES:

    Sundays, September 16th to October 28th. 

GRADES

  1 to 4

TIME:

   12:30-2:00 pm 

REGISTRATION:

FEE:

Grades 1-2 $50.00 (non-residents attending school in Moorestown- $70.00); Grades 3-4-$60.00 (non residents $80.00)

LOCATION

: Wesley Bishop Park, North Church Street. No disposable water bottles on turf field.

TEAM ASSIGNMENTS:

Team assignments will be announced on Sunday, September 16th and league games will begin that day.
Girls should come dressed to play with mouth guards, shin guards, and field hockey approved goggles. Sticks that must be returned each week will be available for use.

VOLUNTEERS:

FALL FIELD HOCKEY - GRADES 7-8; LIMITED TRAVEL PROGRAM


The Department of Parks and Recreation will sponsor a Field Hockey Team for residents. The Township will form at least one team to play in the South Jersey Youth Field Hockey league. If enough girls register for a second team, a second team will be formed. The teams will have one to two games per week and a schedule of time and place will be provided at the start of the league. Girls are expected to attend each week so that the team does not have to forfeit any games. PREVIOUS FIELD HOCKEY KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED. This is NOT for beginners as there will be only a few scheduled practices based on the coach's availability at the 7th and 8th grade level and highly competitive games. Mouth guards, shin guards, and Field Hockey Approved goggles are mandatory. Under no circumstances will girls be permitted to participate without them. 

FEE:

$75.00 (residents only).

ROBOTCS CAMP - Space Robot Workshop - July


Come learn about solar power and space in this interactive robot building workshop! Children will harness the power of the sun to fuel their space robots into action. Projects include building a space station and a moving space astronaut, in addition to many more robotic designs. Alanna will teach everyone about the future of space travel, creative energy sources and robots travelling to Mars! Participants will get to keep their Space Robot kits at the end of the class so they can further explore the galaxies.

ROBOTICS CAMP - Catapults and Crossbows - August


Come learn about how projectiles work and the mechanics of force in this interactive workshop. Participants will make different crossbows and catapults to use for experiments in motion. Alanna will lead the children in putting together models and test the impact of changing design features to learn the basis of physics. The children will keep their design kits at the end to take home and continue to explore the world of physics.

The emphasis of this program is to develop solid soccer players in a fun and educational environment. By teaching foundational skills, sportsmanship and general soccer knowledge, young soccer players develop good solid base from which to grow.

SPORTS CLINICS - SUMMER


Learn the fundamentals of soccer, basketball, tennis and flag football.  Participants will learn stretching techniques and drills developed to improve their skills.  Small group instruction will give children the opportunity to work with mentors and participate in live games.
